Yuan Longping Talks About Zoomlion Agricultural Machinery and Agricultural-Agronomic Integration in Super-High-Yielding Hybrid Rice Production

A national demonstration project on agricultural-agronomic integration in super-high-yielding hybrid rice production was officially launched by Zoomlion on January 6, 2015. The father of hybrid rice, Yuan Longping, of the Chinese Academy of Engineering attended the ceremony and delivered a speech. 
 

As early as 2012, Zoomlion began cooperation with Yuan Longping's hybrid rice research team, and Zoomlion's agricultural equipment manufacturing R&D team officially teamed up with the hybrid rice research team in 2013, signaling the start of the National Hybrid Rice Agricultural-Agronomic Integration Project which led to using methods that integrate agriculture and agronomy in a super-high-yielding hybrid rice project. 


At the event, Yuan Longping carefully inspected Zoomlion's seven exhibited scientific and technological achievements from agricultural-agronomic integration, which included a rice seedling planting pipeline, crawler tractor, paddy field tractor, high-speed ride-on transplanter, grain combine harvester, mobile dryer and other equipment for every step in the production chain from seed processing, planting and tilling, to field management, harvesting and drying, all of which are the results of Zoomlion's innovation-driven approach and its development of super-high-yielding agricultural-agronomic integration. 


"Through our joint efforts, we've achieved initial results in agricultural-agronomic integration and the mechanization of the entire process of rice production. Zoomlion is constantly improving a series of products for the mechanization of the entire process of rice production in order to provide farmers with high-performance, highly efficient, cutting-edge agricultural machinery products so farmers can enjoy significant improvements in the level and quality of their harvests. I am very gratified by this," Yuan Longping announced happily. 


The launch of the national demonstration project on agricultural-agronomic integration in super-high-yielding hybrid rice production is the result of deeper cooperation between Zoomlion and Yuan Longping's team. Both sides stated that, while ensuring early completion of the super-high-yielding hybrid rice demonstration project's ultimate goals, Zoomlion and the research team led by Yuan Longping will also further promote agricultural-agronomic integration and help produce technology systems adapted to agriculture and agronomy so as to help farmers continue to achieve high-yield harvests. 


''The super-high-yielding hybrid rice project is a national food production technology project. While grain yield is obviously important, making sure farmers can harvest all their grain is just as important." Yuan Longping pointed out that, from this point of view, conducting effective research into agricultural-agronomic integration and improving overall machine harvesting efficiency is of far-reaching significance and will benefit the people and country.
